From September 2019, Casa de Velázquez will welcome Nicolas Simon (FNRS-Université Louvain-La Neuve), a researcher granted with a two-years individual post-doctoral Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship (2019-2021).
Title of the project : COLEX. Coopetition and Legislation in the Spanish Netherlands (1598-1665)

Integrated to the School of Advanced Hispanic and Iberian Studies of Casa de Velázquez, and in connection with the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study (MIAS), Nicolas Simon’s project intends to analyze the (in)effictiveness of the legislation promulgated in the name of the Spanish King in the Spanish Netherlands, between 1598 and 1665.
This project, funded by the European Commission, benefited from the Support Platform for the setting-up of European projects of Casa de Velázquez and MIAS. In order to assist the candidates it will present as part of the MSCA Individual fellowship 2019 programme, Casa de Velázquez will launch its pre-candidacy call for applications on March 15th 2019.
